A healthy child builds up a healthy family and eventually a healthy nation. Parents often fret and frown over their child’s state of health and the safest mode of treating its ailments. Most of the chronic ailments that children suffer from are due to compromised immune system. The immune system becomes weak due to poor diet, pollution and most often drug overload. In order to heal the slightest attack of cold or ear infection a child is given a heavy dose of antibiotics. These help to overcome the acute phase but make the immune system weak leading to increased frequency of disease attacks. Their damaging effect on the immune system is directly responsible for the dramatic rise in chronic health problems and allergies. Natural nutritive forces and holistic systems of medicine such as homeopathy can support the immune system. Giving your child generous high quality diet along with homeopathic medicines at the first sign of infection improves their chance of overcoming the disease before it takes serious hold.

Wikipedia

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The upper age limit of such patients ranges from age 12 to 21. A medical practitioner who specializes in this area is known as a pediatrician. The word pediatrics and its cognates mean healer of children. In Commonwealth countries, the respective spellings paediatrics and paediatrician are usually preferred. There may be a slight semantic difference: in the USA, a pediatrician (US spelling) is often a primary care physician who specializes in children, whereas in the Commonwealth a paediatrician (British spelling) generally is a medical specialist not in primary general practice. For further detail, see discussion on the broad and narrow meanings. Pediatrics is a relatively new medical specialty, developing only in the mid-1800s. Abraham Jacobi (1830–1919) is known as the father of pediatrics because of his many contributions to the field. Soraneus in Greece in the 2nd century AD wrote the first known manuscript devoted to pediatrics. Rhazes (865–925) in Persia wrote The Diseases of Children, the first book to deal with pediatrics as an independent field of medicine. The first printed book to be devoted especially to children's diseases was in Italian (1472) by Bagallarder's Little Book on Disease in Children. In Europe in the Enfants-Trouvés (1674–1838) in Paris (French = Hospice for Found-Children, i.e., foundlings). There was a gradual move to found separate institutions specifically for ill children, partly to avoid exposing them to adults in adult hospitals. In the Western world, the first generally accepted pediatric hospital is the Hôpital des Enfants Malades (French = Hospital for Sick Children), which opened in Paris in June 1802, on the site of a previous orphanage. From its beginning, this famous hospital accepted patients up to the age of fifteen years, and it continues to this day as the pediatric division of the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital, created in 1920 by merger with the physically contiguous Necker Hospital, founded in 1778 for adults.
