People spend hours simply immersed in the swimming pool enjoying the benefits of the water. However, a swimming pool also has the possibility of being a cesspool of virus and bacteria. While clear water looks wonderful, the reality is that some harmful growths may be invisible and hidden in even the clearest of waters. One method swimming pool owners choose to utilize is their ability to clean the swimming pool, and an important part of a clean swimming pool is testing.

When you need to know how to clean a swimming pool, it is important to have the appropriate tools. The human body leaves bacteria and micro-organisms behind. Getting out the occasional sandwich or piece of pizza is easy: it is the micro-organisms and bacteria left that are harder to confine and cleanse. Simple swimming pool vacuums can be used as needed or on a continual basis. Keeping the area around the swimming pool clean with a normal garden hose will add to the cleanliness of the swimming pool water as well. Backwashing should be used to clean the sand filters at least once a month - more if the occasion calls for it. Adding chlorine is also a step many swimming pool owners use to sanitize the swimming pool water. Usually, chlorine granules are dissolved in a non-metallic container before adding to the water.

Wikipedia

An Automated Pool Cleaner is a vacuum cleaner intended to collect debris and sediment from swimming pools with minimum human intervention. Pools using such a cleaner on a routine basis are not only visually cleaner but also using less chemicals which means lower operating costs. The first swimming pool vacuum cleaner was invented by Ferdinand Chauvier in South Africa, a hydraulics engineer who came to South Africa from the Belgian Congo in 1951. Chauvier quickly realised that there was a huge market for taking the hassle out of cleaning swimming pools.

He went about inventing a machine that would do the job automatically, efficiently powered by the ordinary operation of the pool's filter. But it wasn't until 1974 that the first Kreepy Krauly was born in Chauvier's Springs home. These types of cleaner require high amounts of flow for movement, and as a result may require a dedicated pump (see Pressure driven section below) or adjustment of returns to provided adequate flow to the cleaner. The venturi effect forces the cleaner forward and allows it to remove of dirt, this dirt and water mixture is directed through a filter bag. Although a number of older pool cleaners used this process in the past it has fallen out of favour due to high running costs of additional pump & adjustment of return pipework flows.

Know Your Competition

"A Better Pool Service" was born as a result of the consumer frustrations experienced by our founder, Rob Harris. After working with no less than five different service companies to maintain the pool at his residence, our owner finally concluded that high-quality, trustworthy pool service wasn't available in the greater Dallas area. That's when our founder decided to take matters into his own hands. He hired people he could trust, sent them to the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) for Certified Pool Operator training (CPO).

When his team was built, he founded "A Better Pool Service." Since then, he has continued to seek and hire the best talent, and invest money in their advanced training so that they can provide the best pool services possible. Advanced training, however, is not enough. Every employee of A Better Pool Service must sign a "Code of Ethics and Work Performance Agreement." This demonstrates the employees' commitment to superior service, and helps to ensure that this company will always be A Better Pool Service. A Better Pool Service is an accredited member of the Dallas area Better Business Bureau (BBB), and also a member of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP).
